LORETO DAY SCHOOL

Sealdah, Kolkata

First opened in 1857 by the Loreto Sisters, Loreto Day School Sealdah has, over the last few decades, expanded its mission to serve the underprivileged, driven by the vision of its former principals, especially Sister Cyril. The school focuses on empowering children from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to take their place in society with dignity.

Target is proud to sponsor regular schooling for children from some of the most marginalised communities. Almost all are first-generation learners and the first in their families to receive an English-medium education.

Many Loreto Sealdah students have gone on to pursue higher education in colleges across Kolkata. Notably, two students have been accepted into the Community College Initiative (CCI) Program in the USA—a merit-based competition sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department, offering scholarships to exceptionally talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
