Burgruine Glanegg, situated in the County of Carinthia, looks back to a long history.
It is open to the public.
To advance education of the arts, culture, heritage and science
by way of preservation of the National Historical Ancient Site, Target contributes
towards renovation cost.
About 25 years ago, a group of professional volunteers took on the herculean task to revitalize this Castle, first mentioned in 1121 A.D. to save it from total decay.
Financial help to pay for material comes from a number of organisations, companies
and individuals. It has since become a popular excursion destination.
For the newly renovated Fortress Chapel "Peter and Paul" a new Bell was cast in
Austria in 2020.
The Bell operates electronically , ringing lunch time and evening, echoing through
the whole valley.
Grapes grow on the south facing slope, wine is for sale in the Fortress.
